The students of private institutions have secured top positions as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan on Tuesday announced results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examination 2017. A total of 63,466 candidates were appeared in the examination, out of which 48,005 declared successful, showing the pass percentage of 75.64. The first, second and third positions were grabbed by the students of private schools. The result was declared at the award giving ceremony for the top 20 position holder students held at the Board office.
Lawmaker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ali Mohammad was the chief guest on the occasion. Chairman Dr Shaukat Hayat and Controller of Examination Mohammad Ali announced the results. Bahram Khan of the Quaid-e-Azam Public School Swabi topped the examination by securing 1051 marks. The second position was shared by three students, Moiz Ahmad of Oriental Public School Mardan, Marwa Noor of the Quaid-e-Azam Girls Public School Swabi and Dua Bibi of the Quaid-e-Azam Girls Public School Zaida Swabi, who secured 1,049 marks.
The third position was shared by two students, Tasdeeq Anwar of the Quaid-e-Azam Girls Public School Swabi, and Yumna Najum of the Students Model High School Akora Khattak Nowshera by securing 1048 marks. In the Arts Group, Iram Sheeraz of the Moonlight Public High School, Swabi, achieved first position with 943 marks, Arooba and Wajeeha Afridi of Presentation Convent High School Risalpur secured second position with 939 marks and Shandana Zeb of the same school stood third with 933 marks.
A total of 63,466 students appeared in the examination of which 48,005 were declared successful with percentage of 75.64. In the Science group, 39,824 students appeared of which 34,155 passed the exam with 85.76 pass percentage. Similarly, in Humanities Group, around 23,642 students took the exam out of them 13,850 passed with 58.58 percentage. Student from any government school has not succeed to gain position in the list of top 20 position holders in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan in the Secondary School Certificate examinations.
