Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan (SCBAP) has strongly condemned the incident of misbehavior, harassment and manhandling with honorable Justice Tariq Masood, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan and his family by some unidentified persons and their guards who intercepted their vehicle and threatened them and damaged his car while they were travelling on Lahore - Islamabad motorway.
In a statement Secretary SCBAP Aftab Ahmad Bajwa said, "Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan hereby strongly demands the concerned authorities to arrest the accused men regardless of their so called spiritual reputation." "SCBAP is of the view that the deliberate attack on honorable Justice Tariq Masood and his family is not only a cowardly act to threaten them but it is also an attempt to threaten superior judiciary", Bajwa added.
He said by this act an effort has been made to confer mental torture on to Justice Tariq Masood and his family, therefore, SCBAP demands that strict action under the law shall be taken against those responsible for this highly condemnable act. SCBAP also demanded enhanced security of all honorable judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and their families at the level to avoid any such incident in future.
