Facebook might be working towards upgrading its Facebook Messenger by introducing voice commands in the app.

According to recent reports, Facebook is working on internal testing of improving its Facebook Messenger by letting users use their voice to dictate and send messaging, initiate voice calls and create reminders within the app, as reported by Tech Crunch.

As per the development code for Messenger’s Android app, the app might come in with an ‘M’ Messenger assistant button that will be used for activating voice commands. However, more details are not yet known, since the feature is most likely in development, wrote Digital Trends.

Though Facebook has not yet officially announced anything, but if the feature is actually introduced it might prove to be useful while composing messages while driving, and also Messenger will be easier to use for people with disabilities, or for international users whose native languages are difficult to type.

A Facebook spokesperson informed Tech Crunch, “We often experiment with new experiences on Messenger with employees. We have nothing more to share at this time,” hinting that the feature might be being testing internally within the employees.

Moreover, there is still no guarantee if the feature will ever make it available for the public or not.
