Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Seven ships, MSC Maeva, MSC Saturn, Atho, Daimon Gate, Orient Peony, Umm Bab and Sti Excel carrying Containers, Project cargo, Coal, LNG and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Port Qasim Electrical Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile five more ships with Containers, Coal, Chemicals and Bitumen also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

High side berth occupancy was reported at the Port on Monday, where a total thirteen ships namely, MSC Maeva, MSC Saturn, Grace, Sea Pace, Daimon Gate, Orient Peony, Glenda Melissa, Uni Wealth, Athos, Orion-III, White Purl, Umm Bab and Sti Excel are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Palm oil, Palm kernel, Steel coil, Project Cargo, Soya been seeds, LPG, LNG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 198,414 tonnes, comprising 150,675 tonnes import cargo and 47,739 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,983 Containers (TEUs), (1,102 TEUs Imports and 1,881 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Three ships, MSC Saturn, Athos and Glenda Melissa sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship MSC Maeva is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Four ships, MSC Asya, Northern Monument, Kamilla Kosan and Able Sailor carrying Containers, Chemicals and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and LCT respectively on Tuesday, 11th September-2018, while another containers ship MOL Courage is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
