The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that all field offices will remain open and observe extended working hours, ie, 9am to 8pm on Wednesday (March 30) and 9am to 10pm on Thursday (March 31) for collection of duty/taxes. In this regard, the FBR has issued instructions to the collectors of customs here on Monday.
According to the FBR, the chief collectors are also requested to establish liaison with the State Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan and scheduled commercial banks in their jurisdiction to ensure transfer of tax collection from these branches before or on March 31, 2016 to respective offices of the SBP on the same date so as to ensure the accounting of the same towards the collection for the month of March, 2016.
