Heavy widespread rains likely today

In a special weather advisory, the Meteorological department has predicted that heavy downpours may generate urban/flash flooding in upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan divisions), Fata, DG Khan, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Lahore divisions and Kashmir on Saturday.
In its daily forecast for Saturday, the Met Office said that widespread rain-thundershower accompanied by strong gusty winds (with isolated hailstorm) is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions). Scattered heavy downpours at times very heavy is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions), FATA, Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, DG Khan divisions during the period.
Rain-thundershower accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Multan, DG Khan divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Bahawalpur, Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran divisions and Sindh.
WEATHER OUTLOOK NEXT 48 HRS: Widespread rain-thundershower accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions), upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions), Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir with isolated hailstorm. Scattered heavy downpours at times very heavy is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan divisions) and Rawalpindi, DG Khan, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions. Dry weather is expected in Sindh and Balochistan.
WEATHER PAST 24 HRS Rain-thundershower accompanied with strong gusty winds occurred in Balochistan, Punjab, Islamabad, KP and Kashmir, while at scattered places Sindh. Met Office recorded rain in Punjab in mm as Jhang 49, Jhelum 42, Murree 29, Mangla 22, Islamabad 21, Sialkot 22, Faisalabade 15, Gujranwala 20, Multan 21, Kot Addu 24 Lahore 10mm. The cloudy weather and light rains have dropped maximum temperature in Punjab by at least 5 degrees Celsius.
