Prices of edible items including pulses and vegetable remained stable in market as no significant change recorded. However, chicken, flour and sugar prices registered increase during the week ended February 26, 2016. During a visit to the retail market, it was witnessed that one-kilogram good quality rice is being sold at Rs 115, which show no against the price of preceding week.
Similarly, a one kilogram Moong is available at Rs 150, Dal Chann at Rs 140 per kg, Malika Masoor is available at Rs 140 per kg, , red bean at Rs100 and Dal mash at Rs 260 per kg. It was also witnessed that prices of various brands of ghee/cooking oil remained steady.Prices of the vegetable slightly declined as five-kilogram onion is available at Rs 150 which was selling at Rs 170 during last week. However, a five-kg tomato bag is available at Rs 180.
A five-kilogram bag of red potato is being sold at Rs 100 against Rs 120 being traded during preceding week, while a five-kilogram white potato is available at Rs 70.
Similarly, prices of other veggies remained stable as a five-kilogram pea bag is being sold at Rs 250, five-Kg cauliflower and cabbage at Rs 100.
It emerged during the visit that the price of egg is on decline with increasing temperature.
A good weight live chicken is being sold in the range of Rs 250 to Rs 270 while price of chicken meat has registered increase as it is being traded at Rs 136 per kg, against Rs 120/kg being price of preceding week.
