The Met Office has forecast mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. It said that light rain with snowfall over mountains is, however, expected at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening and night time.
Fog is likely to prevail over plains of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours. "A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours," it said. In the last 24 hours, temperature in Skardu plunged by minus 10 degrees Celsius, Gupis minus 6, Astore, and Parachinar minus 5 each, Kalat and Malamjabba minus 4 each, Kalam, Dalbandin, Quetta and Dir minus 3, Gilgit minus 2, Murree, Chitral, Zhob, and Rawalakot minus 1 each.
