Cricketer Imad Wasim said on Saturday that he was at the threshold of his international career and wanted to perform for the country both with the bat and ball. "I'm not a star or superstar. I'm happy that I contributed in team's win against Sri Lanka. I'll try my best to come up to the expectations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and people in future also," he said.
The 26-year-old, who hit the historic six against Sri Lanka in the second fixture of recently held two-match T20 series and snatched victory for Pakistan was talking to media here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) office. The ICC had hosted a luncheon to recognize his contributions for the national team. He said he would also try his best to make his place in the Test team. "I have performed in every format of game in domestic cricket and it is upto selectors to acknowledge my work," he said. He revealed that Imran Khan was his ideal cricketer, while he took inspiration from Wasim Akram. "I was inspired from Wasim Akram and wanted to become an allrounder like him," he added.
