The Met Office has forecasted scattered rains for upper and central parts of the country during the coming week. It, however said the weak monsoon condition was expected to unleash hot and humid weather in the country in the next 3 days. However, it also forecasted isolated rains thundershowers would continue in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hazara and Malakand divisions and Kashmir during the period.
Air temperature in Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius till August 10 with relatively clear skies. As a result, melt rate will enhance, which is likely to trigger GLOF events in Bagrot, Shigar, Skardu, Khaploo and Ghanchey districts. People residing along the path of flow must remain vigilant during the period, the office said.
