CMA CGM is the success story of the incredible French entrepreneurial boldness of Mr Jacques Saadé, who has effectively built, in just a few decades, a family group that is now a leading worldwide shipping group. It's the story of a company whose extraordinary adventure began with One vessel and One shipping route between Marseilles and Beirut and in 35 years it has become a major player in the global economy. The group is presently boasting a credible global presence with a powerful fleet, transporting a volume of 12.1 million TEUs (Twenty Feet Equivalent Unit) in 2014.
Most recently, CMA CGM was honoured to receive the Chinese Prime Minister Mr Li Keqiang in its Marseilles headquarters on 1st July 2015. During this exceptional visit, two major agreements were signed of a synergistic partnership and strategic investment opportunity.

The CMA CGM Group is in effect pioneering the development of eco-containers, with a fleet which currently accounts for around 10% of the company owned fleet. This commitment to our environment takes the form of concrete actions and the official proof of its achievement can be found in the results of the official assessments such as the Silver Level recognition granted to it in September 2014 by the ratings agency ECOVADIS, which stringently assesses corporate social responsibility, ethics and environmental protection across the whole of the group.
The Group with its network of offices world over, launched its inaugural internal university dubbed FIRST. Today in order to ensure the transmission of CMA CGM's values and methods, the company believes in remaining innovative when it comes to training. This is why the company has created a new structure at the Group's headquarter in Marseilles, called the CMA CGM Academy. The purpose of this academy is to ensure quality training in all aspects of the shipping industry, as well as in other subjects of people management, budgeting, finance and project management. Furthermore it also offers LEAN and SIX Sigma courses which have demonstrated immense success in various corporations. CMA CGM Pakistan is constantly evolving with its forward thinking strategy and a desire to pool internal resources. "It all comes down to pragmatism" is the word from the head office in Marseilles.
