The Ministry of Commerce has dismissed the allegations of irregularities in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) elections 2014 exonerating present management of the LCCI of all exaggerated allegations.
According to the LCCI spokesman, the Ministry of Commerce in its order said "After hearing the parties at length, perusing the relevant record and relevant provisions of law and rules, it is held that the elections of LCCI for the year 2014-15 were conducted in accordance with relevant provisions of Trade Organisations Act, 2013 and Trade Organisations Rules, 2013. The appellants have failed to provide any evidence that the Annual General Meeting was not concluded. Hence, the appeal is hereby dismissed." The Director General Trade Organisations had already rejected the petition in January this year following which the petitioners had approached the Commerce Ministry with their appeal.
