A six-member team of Scotland Yard is set to arrive in Islamabad to interrogate three suspects arrested in the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq's murder case. The team is said to be comprising Stuart James Bullemor, David Walter Smith, Gary Martin Essam, Claire Margaret Nichols, Taylor Keith and Samantha Louise Marry. Sources said the team will start investigations from Monday. They said the law enforcement agencies had shifted the key suspect of Dr Imran Farooq murder case, Moazzam Ali, to Islamabad from Karachi.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on June 23 announced that the government had allowed British investigation authorities access to suspects in the murder case. Moazzam was arrested by Rangers at Karachi two months ago while the two accused, Mohisn Ali and Khalid Shamim, were arrested by Frontier Corps at the Pak-Afghan border. Nisar said the government informed the British authorities through diplomatic channels about the arrest of two suspects and allowed them to investigate the suspects. They were taken into custody immediately after they landed at Karachi Airport while coming from Sri Lanka.
