The 5th edition of Livestock Dairy Fisheries Agriculture Exhibition (LDFA)-2015 will be organised from May 30, 2015 at Expo Centre, Karachi. This was stated by Muhammad Riazuddin Director General, Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) at a press briefing held at SBI office here on Tuesday. He announced that SBI under the vision and guidance of its chairman Dr Asif A Borhi was organising two-day LDFA-2015 at Karachi Expo Centre from May 30, 2015.
He said that LDFA-2015 was aimed at targeting corporate sector, technological solutions, growers/farmers, investors, diplomatic missions, ambassadors, etc to attract foreign and domestic investments in the potential sectors. He informed that Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah would inaugurate the exhibition, which was an annual feature of SBI and Sindh government to showcase potential opportunities in agriculture, livestock, dairy, fisheries and others sectors.
He said that event would also facilitate trade and commerce in the province as around 70 percent of the country's population was directly or indirectly linked with agriculture. The LDFA 2015 will be attended by a large number of participants including diplomats, foreign and domestic businessmen and investors, banking and investment professionals, representatives from federal and provincial governments.
The first day of the LDFA 2015 is planned to be featured by a comprehensive seminar characterised by speeches and presentation from renowned and prestigious academicians, experts and entrepreneurs. Taking into consideration the agriculture business promotion in Sindh the last four LDFAs cumulatively materialised business/commercial deals amounting to Rs 1 billion and boosted up the agrarian economy of Sindh.
"To realize the importance of LDFA 2015, exhibitors participating in this year are 24 exhibitors promoting exotic birds, 21 agriculture companies, 14 international companies and banks, 14 companies of dairy and livestock, nine companies in poultry and fisheries and two diplomatic missions - Sri Lankan and Indonesian. Besides, number of foreign investors, foreign companies, and international agriculture experts are expected to participate in LDFA 2015, he added. Abrab Ahmad Shaikh, Director Admin SBI and Mehboob-ul-Haq, Managing Director Sindh Enterprise Development Fund also attended the event.
