Medical Superintendent Services Hospital Lahore Dr Umer Farooq Baloch has said that a comprehensive security plan for the hospital has been finalised. The plan has been prepared in consultation with security experts. Under the plan, all the patients would be shifted to emergency and other wards through the staff and Gate No 4 would be used for that purpose, he said, adding a monitoring room had been prepared from where all the wards and area within premises of hospital would be watched through cameras.
Dr Umer said more CCTV cameras were being installed in various parts of the hospital. Moreover, shuttle ambulance from Gate No 4 had also been started, he added, saying Dr Amir Mirza had been named In-charge of security affairs. Dr Umer Farooq said CCTV cameras had been installed at secret spots of the hospital and security guards had also been given Walky Talky sets to be contacted with each other. He also added that the background of newly appointed security guards would also be confirmed from their police stations of their native towns. He said security arrangements for doctors and nursing hostel had also been improved and no one except employees of the hospital would be allowed to stay there. Even the parents or brothers or sisters of the concerned doctors would be required to get approval from administration to stay there for one or two days, he added.
Dr Umer directed the Works Department to complete the project of raising the hospital walls and put barbed wire as early as possible. He said vendors and beggars would not be allowed to get in the hospital. He also directed the staff to immediately inform the administration if they find someone or something suspicious.
