Namaz-e-Istisqa was offered at an adjoining plot of the Site Association of Industry's (SAI) office here on Monday. Mufti Naeem led the prayers. Members of the SAI and its staff, general public and representatives of business and industrial community offered the Namaz which was arranged on the appeal of the Association's Chairman Younus M. Bashir. Special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.
Prominent among those who participated in the Namaz included Zubair Motiwala, Ahsan Arshad Ayub, Iqbal Lakhani. According to industrialists, water supply to industries from Hub Dam had come to a halt following water level in dam dropped drastically. The entire Site and North Karachi industrial areas have been facing acute water shortage since long and, as such, they have no choice but to purchase private tankers at exorbitant rates, they added.
