Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that provincial government has started provision of financial assistance to the displaced persons of North Waziristan and seven thousand rupees are being given to each displaced family. He said that process of providing financial help will soon be completed in an efficient manner.
He was talking to Assembly Members of various districts. The Chief Minister said that government and people of Punjab are standing with the displaced persons of North Waziristan in their moment of trial and all out resources will be provided for their relief and rehabilitation. He said that provision of help to the IDPs will be continued till the success of war against terrorism and rehabilitation of the last displaced person. He said that crores of rupees are being deposited by philanthropists and affluent persons as well as general public in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the help and assistance of the displaced brethren and sisters of North Waziristan.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab cabinet and Assembly Members belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-N have donated their one month's salary while government servants have deposited their one day's pay in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. He said that every penny of donations is being spent honestly on the relief of the distressed people and Punjab government will spare no effort for the return and complete rehabilitation of the IDPs.
He said that lakhs of people of North Waziristan have been forced to leave their homes as a result of war against terrorism and are waiting for help and it is the collective religious and national obligation of the masses to help the displaced persons. He said that all out assistance will be provided to the courageous Pakistanis who have migrated and co-operation will also be extended for their rehabilitation and reconstruction process after restoration of peace.
