The KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani has awarded Peshawar and Shinkiari police jawans for arresting dacoits and extortionist in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Monday. According to details Faqirabad police had arrested three accused who slaughtered a house wife, took away 10 tola gold, Rs 100,000 and three mobile sets in a dacoity incident.
The arrested accused also confessed their crime in the court while the Badhber police had gunned down the accused involved in firing at a police constable. The police also recovered weapon from the accused. Similarly the Shinkiari police killed an extortionist Muhammad Siraj in an encounter. The accused was also found involved in several dacoity and murder cases in Karachi.
While addressing the function the IGP informed that protection of life, honour and property is the prime responsibility of police and added that it is matter of great pride that police is not only chasing the outlaws but was also getting continuous success against such elements. The police officers and jawans awarded on this occasion were SP City Dr Mustfa Tanveer, SHO Faqirabad police station and Sub Inspector Diyar Khan and Constable Abdul Ghafar, ASI Ijaz Khan and Constable Hameed and Mohib Ullah of Badhber police station, Sub Inspector Khan Afsar, ASI Jan Nisar, ASI Aamir and Constables Tanveer and Akthar.
