Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid inaugurated a new campus of COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology (CIIT) on Friday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony as chief guest, the Minister said market-oriented disciplines would be taught to the students like Marine sciences, Geo physics, Information Technology, Management Sciences and Oceanography in the Gwadar Campus, said a news release issued here.
He reiterated the commitment of the government and said development in the field of science and technology is the top priority of the present government. By the establishment of CIIT campus at Gwadar, a quality education would be provided to the students of Balochistan in their own province. He also offered scholarships for the students of Balochistan at the CIIT main campus at Islamabad. The Chief Minister thanked the Minister for the generous offer and said the Government of Balochistan would provide land and other facilities to materialise the noble idea of the Federal Government.
