At least six people were killed in different incidents of violence in Karachi while three bodies were found here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, three bullet-riddled bodies of men were recovered from Surjani Town near Northern Bypass on Monday morning. The men were shot dead after being kidnapped by unidentified persons. Their identities could not be ascertained till filing of this story.
In another case, a man was critically injured after unidentified assailants had opened fire on him near Gakhar Phatak. Latter, he succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. The deceased was identified as Nabi Bux. Mansoor, 35, was shot and killed by unidentified person near Hospital Chaurangi located in Landhi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
Another man was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Raja Tanveer Colony, located in Orangi Town. The name of deceased was yet to be identified. The body was shifted to nearby hospital. Meanwhile, police claimed to have killed three alleged gangsters belonging to Lyari gang war in an encounter. Police said they had signalled to dubious persons, who were on motorcycles, to halt but they resorted to straight fire on police. Police retaliated and killed three alleged gangsters on the spot. Police also claimed to have recovered two grenades, three pistols and two motorcycles from their possession.
The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post-mortem. Moreover, two persons were injured in shooting incident which occurred in Gulshan-e-Memar, Faqira Goth. The names of injured were ascertained as Hassan Ali Solangi son of Rustam Solangi and Babar Khan. They were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).
From today onwards, Karachi Police would start snap checking in different parts of Karachi on regular basis, a press statement said. People are advised to cooperate in this regard. This was decided in order to curb street crimes in particular and other crimes in general. It would boast up the morale of citizen of Karachi, the press statement said. Karachi Police Chief has strictly advised Police staff to stay polite in performing their jobs.
