At this year’s MWC, Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, through Universal Service Fund (USF).

The MoU is an agreement between parties towards a mutual goal. The MoU was signed by Chief Technology Officer USF, Asif Kamal, with Huawei representatives, where Anusha Rehman, Pakistan’s Minister of IT & Telecom was also a witness. Pakistan’s IT Ministry is looking forward for Huawei to contribute towards the digital development in Pakistan.

According to Phone World, the IT Minister mentioned that Huawei will offer the requisite expertise to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT) through USF to develop the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services execution strategy and to support the Joint Innovation Center (JIC) for empowering women, benefiting from the USF ‘ICTs for Girls’ program.
