KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 240,244 tonnes of cargo comprising 170,709 tonnes of import cargo and 69,535 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 170,709 comprised of 101,561 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 39,302 tonnes of Bulk Cargo & 29,846 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 69,535 tonnes comprised of 58,765 tonnes of containerized Cargo, 620 tonnes of Bulk Cargo & 10,150 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 9316 containers comprising of 4349 containers import and 4967 containers export were handled on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 739 of 20’s and 1769 of 40’s loaded while 02 of 20’s and 35 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1008 of 20’s and 753 of 40’s loaded containers while 205 of 20’s and 1124 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around 12, ships namely Bohwa Tsingtao, Silver Cindy, Cma Cgm Titus, Furano Galaxy, Goofy, Navios Jasmine, Teera Bhum, Cma Cgm Rabelais, Stolt Kiri , Libera J, Sunrise and Marvel have berthed at Karachi Port.
More or less, 14 ships namely X-Press Bardsey, Sea Harvest, Northern Dexterity, M.T.Quetta, MT Lahore, Sti Bronx, Eastern Gardenia, Rdo Endeavour, Bohwa Tsingtao, Cma Cgm Titus, Silver Cindy, Goofy, Teera Bhum and Navios Jasmine have sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 10 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, Korea Chemi and OOCL Asia left the Port on Monday morning while three more ships, Chemroad Sirius, Al-Soor and CD Huelva are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
A Cargo volume of 167,878 tonnes, comprising 127,137 tonnes imports cargo and 40,741 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 2,635` Containers (854 TEUs Imports and 1,781 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 16 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, 06 ships, Straits Star, Asia Aspara, World Progress, Al-Deebal, MSC Pina and MSC Michigan VII & another containers ship ‘Maersk Brooklyn’ carrying Chemicals, Palm oil, Gas oil, LNG and Containers are expected to take berths at EVTL, LCT FOTCO, EETL and QICT on Monday, 19th Dec- 2022.
