ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said that strict action should be taken against the perpetrators involved in creating artificial inflation and reportedly decided to reduce taxes on essential commodities in order to control inflation.
In a meeting chaired by him on Monday to discuss measures to tackle rising inflation, the prime minister also directed the ministries concerned to undertake steps to make the prices of essential items stable.

The prime minister also ordered the ministers concerned to make sure implementation on price control committees, besides instructing them to keep an eye on artificial inflation in their constituencies.
The prime minister further said that strict action should be taken against the perpetrators involved in creating artificial inflation, according to media reports. During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on rising inflation in the country and the effects of recent hike in petroleum products.
