KARACHI: After mixed movement the day before, PKR remained unchanged at market close on Wednesday against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also remained unchanged against AED and SR in open market while going up against Euro. Globally, dollar was near a four month high against Euro and Japanese Yen as traders awaited US inflation data, which if high, is expected to pressure Federal Reserve to lighten stimulus policy.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee remained unchanged for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday’s rates closing at 163.90 and 164 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged as well for both buying and selling over yesterday’s rates closing at 163.60 and 164 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 190 and 191.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 44.30 and 44.50 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling as well closing at 43.30 and 43.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its day earlier recoveries against the American dollar in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to the local currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the US dollar prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 163.70 and Rs 164.90 against the overnight closing rates Rs 163.50 and Rs 164.70, respectively.
On the other hand, the rupee maintained its upward journey for the second consecutive day against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound’s buying and selling rates further declined from Tuesday’s closing trend of Rs 225.50 and Rs 227.00 to Rs 224.60 and Rs 226.00, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 30 pasias against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 164.50(buying) and Rs 164.60(selling) against last rate of Rs 164.20(buying) and Rs 164.30(selling).
It closed at Rs 164.50(buying) and Rs 164.60(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold traded at Rs. 110,400 (selling) and Rs110,000 (selling).
