LAHORE: The Punjab government has shown impressive growth in tax collection as it has collected Rs 10.6 billion in March 2021 as compared to Rs 8.1 billion during the corresponding month, showing a growth of 30.1 percent.

According to the provisional collection figures, the Punjab Revenue Authority’s total collection for the first nine months of the financial year 2020-21 stands at Rs 107.2 billion compared to Rs 79.6 billion in the same period of the last financial year, representing a growth of 34.6 percent.

The spokesman of the Authority said the tax collection drive is on the right track towards achieving its target for 2020-21. He also stated that the authority is able to achieve this remarkable growth despite the Covid-19, especially due to the pro-business policies initiated by the Punjab government and the vision of the finance minister.
