KARACHI: Mian Naseer Hyat Maggo President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has appointed Rafique Suleman as Convener of FPCCI’s Central Standing Committee on Rice for the year 2021.
According a notification, President FPCCI has also authorized Suleman for selection and appointment of professional and experienced persons throughout the country as members (maximum Nine (9)) for Rice Committee from the relevant sector. The committee Convener has asked for at least one meeting of the committee in a quarter.
Rafique Suleman is proprietor at R.B International and served several times as Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP). On his appointment as Convener FPCCI Rice Committee, Rafique has thanked Mian Naseer Hyat Maggo and assured that the committee will work with consultation of FPCCI leadership for promotion of rice exports in the world markets to earn more foreign exchange for the country.
He said that Rice is the one of the largest exported commodity of the country and last year some $2 billion foreign exchange was earned through export of rice. However, he said that rice export during this year are facing difficulties and seeking some support from government to maintain the exports.
