HAMBURG: A government agency in Pakistan has received offers in an international tender that closed on Tuesday, with the lowest price estimated to be $286.20 a tonne, including cost and freight (c&f), European traders said.

The cheapest offer was believed to have been submitted by trading house Louis Dreyfus for 110,000 tonnes.

Offers in the tender, in which the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is seeking to buy 320,000 tonnes, are still being considered and no purchase has been reported, traders said.

Traders reported the following offers in the tender (with prices in dollars per tonne c&f and volume offered in tonnes):

Louis Dreyfus $286.20 for 110,000 tonnes Agrocorp $287.38 for 115,000 tonnes GTCS $288.00 for 120,000 tonnes Aston $292.70 for 110,000 tonnes Swiss Singapore $294.60 for 100,000 tonnes Cargill $296.50 for 112,000 tonnes Falcon Bridge $309.50 for 100,000 tonnes

According to the tender terms, the wheat can be supplied from optional origins and shipment must be organised so that all the grain arrives in Pakistan by Jan. 31, 2021. The minimum offer is 100,000 tonnes.

In its last reported wheat tender on Oct. 16, Pakistan is believed to have bought about 340,000 tonnes of wheat.
