Sparking yet another controversy in the police department, Superintendent of Police Asim Iftikhar was relieved from his post of additional SP Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Friday following a heated argument with Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) during a meeting a night ago.

As per details, the two officers had a ‘heated argument’ during an official meeting called in the wee hours at the Safe City Authority headquarters.

As per Dawn, the situation turned ugly when the CCPO reportedly lost his temper during the meeting, directing Civil Lines SP to lodge a case against his colleague Asim Iftikhar under section 155 (C) of the Police Order 2002 .

Other senior police officers present in the meeting interfered and spent the rest of the time calming the situation that eclipsed the main agenda of the meeting.

Later, a notification issued by the Punjab Police Department stated that Iftikhar has been posted as SP Headquarters, Punjab Traffic in Lahore.

The notification has been signed by Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani.

SP Iftikhar will be replacing SP Tariq Aziz, who has been transferred as SP Legal Training College in Chung.
