Recent reports suggest that Samsung won’t be the first brand to get the under-screen fingerprint sensor. Vivo will soon launch the first smartphone to have an on-display fingerprint sensor.

The fifth largest smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, received 3C certification in China to most likely feature an on-screen fingerprint scanner on the variant of X20 Plus. This will make Vivo the first smartphone brand to introduce this feature.

Galaxy S9 likely to have on-screen fingerprint sensor feature

The original Vivo X20 was launched back in September and also introduced a special edition for FIFA World Cup 2018. This new variant of the smartphone will be named as Vivo X20 Plus UD’ as revealed by the 3C listing. Speculations are being made regarding the feature from the ‘UD’ addition in the name that might point to ‘Under-Display’, however, it could be for something else too, reported Tech Juice.

As per Phone Radar, Vivo’s phone will be officially announced at the CES 2018 happening next week. As its older variants X20 and X20 Plus, X20 Plus UD’ might have similar features with a metal unibody design and AMOLED display. The phone is likely to support a dual rear camera with a combination of 24MP + 5MP sensor and a 24MP front camera.
