Grams prices were sharply higher on the wholesale grain market on Saturday as buyers were trying to cover needs ahead of Ramazan, dealers said.
On the grams side, grams Australia gained Rs 150 to Rs 4500-4700, gram dal Australia followed the same pattern, rising by Rs 300 to Rs 5500-5700, grams 50x50 rose by Rs 350 to Rs 5200-5400, yellow peas Canada picked up Rs 150 to Rs 3900-4100, yellow peas dal Canada gained the same amount at Rs 4300-4450, yellow peas Ukraine picked up the same amount at Rs 3800-4000 and Yellow peas dal Ukraine was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4200-4350, they said.
On the cereals side wheat old bardan was quoted lower at Rs 2490-2500 and new type was registered at Rs 2505-2515 and gur low type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 6500 while the best type retained its overnight level at Rs 7500 in process of trading, they said.
A solo change was seen on the seed side, cotton seeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type gained Rs 20 to Rs 1380, the best type, however, lost Rs 25 to Rs 1400, they said.
