The Karachi Port handled 140,307 tonnes of cargo including 116,333 tonnes of import cargo, 23,974 tonnes of export cargo and 3,618 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 116,333 tonnes comprised of 32,693 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15,404 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,009 tonnes of coal; 1,646 tonnes of canola seeds; 3,349 tonnes of rice and 68,236 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,974 tonnes comprised of 13,291 tonnes of containerised cargo; 31 tonnes of general cargo; 10,652 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,652 tonnes of cement and 9,000 tonnes of wheat. Nine ships namely Patriotic, Chembulk Minneapolis, Marilena, Kota Akbar, Ani Temouchment, Celina Star, BM Interpid, Violetta and Ocean Star carrying coal carrier, chemicals carrier and four container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Kota Akbar, Tandis, Celina Star, Chembulk Minneapolis, Patriotic and BM Interpid carrying three container ships, two oil tankers and bunker respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Ital Oceano, Tandis and RMT Quetta with two contalner ships and oil tanker on Saturday, while five ships namely TS Tokyo, Alkman, Liwa, OOCL Dalian and APL Sharjah with two oil tankers and three container ships are expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, Battery Park, Banjo Bridge and Al-Mirqab carrying chemicals carriers, ethanol ship and two container ships respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while six vessels viz Norca, Taroko, CSL Ride, Hyundai Confidance, APL Rubi and Majestic carrying jet oil, four container ships and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 55,912 tonnes of cargo includes 36,758 tonnes of import cargo, 19,154 tonnes of export cargo and 5,289 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 36,758 tonnes includes 16,512 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,134 tonnes of parxyline and 11,112 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,154 tonnes includes 8,831 tonnes of wheat; 2,597 tonnes of cement; 2,792 tonnes of rice and 4,934 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely New Delhi Express sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely MT Al-Kuwaitiah with diesel oil is expected to sail on Saturday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz MV Abdul, MV Zulal-N, MV Alexi-I, MV Glory, MV MSC Gagaly, MT Al-Kuwaitiah, MT Patriotic and MV Irini are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, containers, diesel oil and praxline respectively during last 24 hours. Six ships namely Glory-1, Nahide-N, Victory Ocean, Fair Chem Steed, Sam Eagle, Fair Sprit and Karachi carrying wheat. Palm oil, phosphoric acid, wheat and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz MT Victory Ocean, MT Fair Chem Steed and MT Karachi carrying palm oil, phosphoric acid and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Saturday.
