Turkish bonds firmed, while stocks were flat and the lira weakened on Friday with investors cautious on the last trading day before a June 12 election that is expected to bring a third consecutive win for the AK Party. The lira weakened to 1.5770 against the dollar from 1.5735 on Thursday. The benchmark February 20, 2013, bond yield edged down to 8.85 percent, from 8.90 percent on Thursday.
The main share index closed virtually flat, just 0.05 percent up, at 63,700.30 points, outperforming a 1.1 percent drop in the emerging equities benchmark index.
