The PM is reported to have met Secretary Petroleum and a director of Parco (BR report; June 10, 2011). It is not clear as to why only one director of Parco was invited at PM House with the Secretary of that Ministry? Why weren't other refinery officials invited to take a wholesome view of the shortage situation?
Why wasn't the PSO questioned whose shortages and black-selling in the past 2 years in Punjab were reported to OGRA? What was the use of discussing the exploration and production, overall energy and plans with the refinery director, who had nothing to do with it.
He should have been blasted by the PM and Secretary for Parco for having played foul with the country for not implementing a project, which they forcibly took over with unprecedented benefits and incentives during the last regime and ended up wasting five precious years with still nothing on the ground.
Mr PM, you can't change anything with the type of people you deploy and retain at the helm of affairs. The performance of SSGC, SNGPL, PSO, OGDCL, PPL, NICL, PIA, NHA, CDA, EOBI, NBP, BOP, CAA and the like must be reviewed for the past three years. Please do not expect any heavenly thing to happen unless things are done with sincerity disregarding people with vested interest. The public wants to know what steps have been taken by the government for the relief of the common man? We reap what we sow, it is an unfortunate fact.
