Sindh Government Employees Housing Society: Chairman NAB hands over possession of plots to alottees
Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) former Ju stice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah handed over the physically possession of plots to the allotted of Gulshan-e-Mehran housing project of Sindh Government Employees Co-operative Housing Society Karachi in a ceremony held on March 2, 2011.
In the first phase, physical possessions to the allottees of Sector-1 which contain approximately 3000 allottees were scrutinised and possession to 200 allottees was handed over. The remaining allottees will be handed over possession after detail scrutiny of their claims and record.
In the year 2007, a complaint was received by NAB Sindh against the management of Sindh Government Employees Housing Society and others of double allotment/lease of plots, non possession of plots, cancellation of plots without any justified reason, illegal and un-authorised collection of development charges and non utilisation of the same. An inquiry was conducted by NAB Sindh and the present management of the society agreed to hand over the physical possession to the allotted of Sector-1 Gulshan-e-Mehran, Sindh Government Employees Co-operative Housing Society.
Sindh Government Employees Co-operative Housing Society Ltd Karachi was registered with registrar Co-operative Housing Societies, Karachi in the year 1970. The objective of the society is to buy, sell, hire land and hand over plots to its members after development. Employees of Government of Sindh are eligible to become members of the society. According to bye-laws, all members of the society will be around 20,000 and the present strength of the members is about 13,853. The Society owns about 780 acres land in Deh Dozan and Deh Troming Karachi. Total numbers of plot presently with the society are; residential 9200 and commercial 1566.-PR
