Investment in automated warehouses, courier services fruitful: Chief SBI

KARACHI: Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), Naheed Memon has said that generation of more employment opportunities and development are possible by investment in businesses of modern and automated warehouses, supply and logistics, hotel and motel and courier services to get benefits from Modern Trade Corridor.

She said this while addressing a seminar on shipping, logistics and supply chain as honorary guest organised by The Professional Network at a hotel here, said a statement on Thursday.

She said that the investors can ponder over the aspects they can utilize to take benefits from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Naheed Memon said that we will have to establish network of modern means of communication, latest automated warehouses, modern railway network as well as hotels and motels.

Terming the courier as gold mine, she called upon the investors to come forward to contribute in these sectors.

She said that Pakistan possessed the 10 largest middle class in the world and small and medium size businesses could appear most successful in the country.

Executive Director Pakistan National Shipping, Brig Rashid Siddiqi, Chief Executive of The Professional Network, Mehmood Tareen and other also spoke.
