Kohli, Yuvraj accused for ‘match fixing’ against Pakistan

It seems like India has not been able to digest its loss against arch rivals Pakistan in the finals of the ICC Champions trophy, after an Indian minister accused the Indian cricket team including skipper Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh of ‘match fixing.’

"In the match against Pakistan, someone like Virat Kohli who scores a century so often and other accomplished players like Yuvraj Singh who have scored so many runs in the past, looked like they were playing to lose.," said Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, quoted NDTV.

Athawale called for the authorities to hold an inquiry into the match, as he alleged the match to be ‘fixed’.

"Was there any match fixing involved? There should be an inquiry into this. Anil Kumble was the coach there. Kohli, who has scored so many runs in the past, what happened to him that day? That's the reason why I have a doubt that was it a case of match-fixing? The players betrayed us. They kneeled in front of a rival like Pakistan… to kneel in front of them in such a way is major act of disrespect to your nation," said Athawale.

Pakistan won the tournament with a 180-run victory over India in the final, held on June 18.
