imageThe final of the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday.

The PCB cleared of all the confusions surrounding the PSL final, which emerged after the deadly attacks at Lahore Mall Road, which was succeeded by a deadlier blast at Sehwan Sharif at the shrine of Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar last week.

"It has been heart-warming to see the dedication of all the owners to the cause of taking cricket back home and there is a realisation that this final will be the first step in opening the gates to international teams starting to make the journey again. We are all committed to this mission and wish to have a thoroughly entertaining final where it should happen - in Lahore," said Sethi while speaking of the meeting.

Previously, Giles Clarke, the head of an International Cricket Council (ICC) team seeking to revive cricket in Pakistan said that the March 7 final of the Pakistan Super League in Lahore would be a key part of efforts to revive cricket in the country.

Clarke, who visited Pakistan last month to study security arrangements for international teams, said reviving international cricket in Pakistan will take time.

"Its a long road for the return of bilateral international cricket to Pakistan. On my recent visit, I noticed that not just the authorities but the man in the street is seeking the return of cricket to Pakistan," said Clarke, a former chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Furthermore, star player Shahid Afridi had urged that the PSL season two final should be held in Pakistan during a post-match press conference. The final, as announced, should be held in Pakistan, with or without international players, he said.

"This is about respect, we can play with our local players but I request overseas players who have supported PSL to also come to Pakistan and continue their support," he added.
