The Soneri Bank has earned Rs 985.298 million as profit after tax translating earning per share of Rs 3.29 in the year ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 920.233 profit after tax and EPS of Rs 3.08 million in the corresponding period 2005.
The board of director of the bank in a meeting held on Friday recommended 10 percent bonus share ie 10 shares for every 100 shares held. In a notice sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange the bank announced Rs 1,448.901 million as profit before tax in the period under review against Rs 1,400.032 million in the same period in previous year.
The mark-up/return/interest income of the bank stood at Rs 1,767.775 million in 2006 against Rs 1,667.094 million in 2005 while the bank's total non-mark up/interest income stood at Rs 754.877 million against Rs 610.774 million.
