Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Nawabzada Ibrar Ahmad Khan and Nawabzada Israr Ahmad Khan, sons of elderly politician late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, here on Friday and joined Pakistan Muslim League along with 170 nazims and councillors of Muzaffargarh.
Members of national and provincial assemblies belonging to Muzaffargarh were also present on the occasion. Talking to newsmen on this occasion Pervaiz Elahi said that his family has had deep-rooted relations with late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan's family, which has rendered meritorious services for the promotion of democracy in the country.
He said that joining of Muslim League by Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan's sons will not only result in strengthening of PML in Muzaffargarh but will also help in organisation of the party at national level.
He said that present government has allocated unprecedented resources for the uplift of Southern Punjab and 11 percent more funds have been provided to this region than the ratio of its population.
He said that an amount of about Rs 64 billion has been spent for the development of Southern Punjab during the last four years. He said that joining of PML by Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan's sons would further accelerate the pace of social development in Muzaffargarh.
Leader of Democratic Group in Muzaffargarh and Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan's son Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan said that they were joining PML unconditionally as they were deeply impressed with President General Pervez Musharraf's vision, Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's services and the on-going development process in the country. He said that a number of development projects are being executed in Southern Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. He assured that all out efforts would be made for strengthening of Pakistan Muslim league.
