The Division Bench of High Court of Sindh on Friday dismissed appeal moved by State against acquittal awarded by a trial court and seeking conviction to Akram Lahori and his two associates in a murder case.
Akram Lahori, Atta Ullah, and Muhammad Azam was acquitted by an anti-terrorism court, Karachi on April 30, 2003. Akram Lahori and his associates were facing charges of murder of Managing Director of Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Shaukat Raza Mirza, who was shot dead on July 26, 2001 near at Race Course round-about.
The accused were given benefits of the doubt by the trial court and acquitted in the case while an appeal was moved before SHC by the State for conviction.
