Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has received a sum of Rs over 2.5 million through open auction of attractive registration numbers of vehicles for LZV series, held in the office of Motor Registration Authority (MRA) on Wednesday.
The Director E&T Region-C Lahore, Chaudhry Masood ul Haq said that before holding the auction, they had launched a publicity campaign for ensuring maximum public participation in the auction. The auction was held under the supervision of Motor Registering Authority Lahore and Superintendent E&T Department.
In the auction, which was held in a transparent manner, all the 136 attractive registration numbers of LZV series were contested.
The highest bid of Rs 192,000 was received for LZV-1 while the second highest offer of 122,000/- came for LZV-786. LZV-5 fetched Rs 105,000. Similarly, LZV-7 was sold at Rs 58,000/-; LVZ-9 Rs 51,000/-, LZV-11 50,000, LZV-100 Rs 40,000/-; LZV-222 Rs 37,500; LZV-111 Rs 36,000/-; LZV-200 Rs 26,000/-; LZV-77, Rs 30,000 and LZV-8888 Rs 25,000.
