Members of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK, in its meeting discussed scope and role of various sectors in the economic development of the country. Principal, Jinnah Islamic College of Commerce Yousaf Mughal presided over the meeting which was also attended by faculty members of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Internal Auditor, Sitara Textile Limited, Nauman discussed issues pertaining to textile sector.
As a result of government policies and relief provided in the current budget, particularly rebate in taxes would help the textile sector to add more in the country's GDP, he added.
Chief Internal Auditor, Dawood Herculis threw light on various approaches toward depreciation charges and their impact on profitability of the organisation. He said that depreciation is charged at various rates for different items. He also apprised the participants of various issues involved in depreciation charges in the companies' accounts.
