Ittehad Tanzeemat Madaris Deenia Pakistan (Alliance of organisations of religious seminaries Pakistan) has warned that they would go to the court of law if government did not withdraw its decision of expulsion of foreign students from Pakistan and a drive would be launched against the rulers.
"We will file a suit against the government if it does not review its decision to expel foreign students from Pakistan and will jointly launch struggle against the forced registration of Madrresah and expulsion of foreign students," Qari Hanif Jhulandari, Co-ordination secretary of the Alliance revealed this while talking to newsmen on Wednesday.
He said," since all the foreign students possessed valid visa, passport, NOC from their parent countries, and they are not involved in violation of the law of the land, there is no justification to ousting them," he asserted.
Qari Hanif said President General Pervez Musharraf had provided an excuse to other countries to expel Pakistani students studying in different educational institutions of the world, including Jamia Al-Azhar Egypt, Saudi-Arabia, Iran, Iraq etc.
In this connection a meeting of all the five Wifaq-ul-Madaris was being convened to discuss the situation arisen after issuing of orders for forced registration of Madrresah and expulsion of foreign students and then a joint strategy would be announced to address the situation.
Qari Jhulandari said," foreign students since they heard the presidential orders are frustrated and disappointed, because their academic year is to be over next month and several of them will not be able to complete their courses.
At least 55 foreign students belonging to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, studying in the religious seminaries here were preparing to go back to their homeland after President General Pervez Musharraf ordered them to leave Pakistan, he added.
Qari Hanif Jhulandari said," we are contacting Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Interior Minister, Aftab Sherpao, Minister for religious affairs Ijaz-ul-Haq, PML Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain seeking permission for the foreign students, who have NOC from their embassies and staying with valid visa so that they could complete their study in Pakistan.
He termed government decision about expelling foreign students unjustified and demanded that all foreign students from medical and engineering colleges should also be expelled in order to purge the country from all foreigners.
