Punjab government is fully aware of the losses, suffered by the people in flood hit areas and the process of rehabilitation is in ful1 swing there. This was stated by Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab for Social Welfare, Saba Sadiq while visiting the flood hit areas of D.G. Khan, Muzaffargarh, Ranjanpur and Layyah districts, according to a handout issued here on Saturday.
She further said that the government was utilising its resources to compensate the victims as early as possible. During her visit, she distributed edibles among the victims and directed the concerned authorities to accelerate the process of rehabilitation. She said that all necessary food items as well as medicines would be provided to the flood victims till their return to their homes.
Saba Sadiq said that Punjab social services board has provided financial assistance of Rs 350,000 for the flood victims.
During her visit to the districts of southern part of the province she also met the representatives of various NGOs and appreciated their contribution for the rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare, Shehla Rathore accompanied the advisor during latter's visit to flood hit areas.
