A three-member bench of the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed Sindh Government's petition challenging a SHC decision for reinstatement of four district Nazims and two Naib Nazims of various districts of the province. The bench of the apex court, comprising Justice Hamid Ali Mirza, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi passed the order after completing the hearing of the case. Advocate General Sindh, Anwar Mansoor Khan appeared before the court and represented the provincial government.
Abdul Hafeez Pirzada Advocate appeared before the court as counsel of the respondents. Abdul Mujeeb Pirzada Advocate was also present in the court.
According to the appeal, the Sindh Government had created four new districts of Qambar, Umerkot, Jamshoro and Kashmor in December last. The District Co-ordination Officers were directed to take over charge of all the districts.
The affected Nazims and Naib Nazims challenged the Sindh Government's order in petitions in Sindh High Court, which allowed all the petitions and declared order of the provincial government null and void.
The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Sindh High Court and allowed the Nazims to work in their capacity in districts Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Dadu and Jacobabad.
