Chairman Frontier Customs Agents Group NWFP and SCCI Standing Committee on Railway & Dryport, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi on Friday held a meeting with NWFP Minister for Industries and Mineral Development, Malik Zafar Azam and briefed him on problems relating to dryport. He told the minister that former chief minister Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan had announced providing land for the establishment of a modern dryport in Azakhel and Rs 20 million for Dryport Trust.
He urged the government to take initiative for the implementation of the decision to help resolve the dryport related problems of the importers and exporters.
The minister assured that he would raise the matter with Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani and would take measures for the resolution of the problems of business community.
Malik Zafar Azam said that the provincial government had already announced industrial policy along with incentives for industrialists and investors. He said that the resolution of the problems of importers and exporters would also be given attention to promote export and earn foreign exchange for both province and the country.
