Justice S A1i Aslain Jaffery of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Monday restrained secretary industries, commerce and investment department, Government of Punjab from issuing notification extending appointment of administrator Institute of Engineers Pakistan (IEP).
The order came in a suit filed by Engineer MP Gangwani, who was removed from the post of president of IEP without any enquiry or allegations.
When the suit came up for hearing, Mohammad Khan Masood, counsel for the defendant, submitted that he is on general adjournment but even then came to attend the matter as soon he came to know that the matter is fixed before the SHC bench. He sought time to file objections and a counter-affidavit.
The bench allowed the request putting off further hearing of the suit as well as applications till June 14. The bench however, restrained the secretary Industries Punjab from "issuing any further notification extending the period of defendant administrator".
