Shortage of Rs 10 stamp papers in the courts has caused lots of problems for the people and they are being forced to get Rs 30 stamp papers instead.
According to a survey conducted by this scribe, no Rs 10 stamp papers are available with the stamp vendors and they are giving people an affidavit for Rs 30. It is being said that it is a government trick to increase revenue.
"We are helpless as the authorities responsible for providing us stamp papers are not giving us stamp papers of Rs 10 or Rs 20."
He said that many times they had raised the issue but the only reply is that Rs 10 or Rs 20 stamp papers are not available. "We are being forced to get Rs 15 stamp papers and we have no other option as we have to feed our families", he said.
Another stamp vendor said that when he talked to concerned people about provision of Rs 10 stamp papers he was threatened that his licence would be cancelled.
A student in the courts for an affidavit said: "I have to attach Rs 20 affidavit with my prospectus of admission, but I have no other option to attach stamp papers of Rs 30 as Rs 10 or Rs 20 stamp papers are not available".
