Sajjad appointed high commissioner in Singapore, Rifat new envoy to Oman

The government has appointed Sajjad Ashraf as High Commissioner for Pakistan to Singapore.

The government has appointed Sajjad Ashraf as High Commissioner for Pakistan to Singapore.
Born on November 9, 1947, Ashraf holds Mater's degree in Political Science, and Defence and Strategic Studies. He joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1973.
He has held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan missions abroad: Nairobi (1974-1978), Maputo (978-1980), Canberra (1983-1986), Kathmandu (1986-1989), Seoul (1989-1991) and The Hague (1998-1999).
He has also served as Consul General Dubai (1996-1998) and Ambassador of Pakistan to Dakar (1999-2002).
Ashraf has served at headquarters as section officer (1974 & 1980-1982), Director (1982-1983 and 1991-1993) and Director Foreign Service Academy (1993-1994), Director General (1994-1996).
Presently, he is serving as Director General at Headquarters since 2002. Ashraf will soon take charge of his new assignment.
Mrs. Rifat Iqbal has been appointed as Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman.
Born on 28 December 1949. she holds degree of M.A. in English Literature. She joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1974.
Mrs. Iqbal has held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan missions abroad: Washington (1979-83), The Hague (1992-95) and Dhaka (1995-98).
She has also served at the Headquarters as section officer (1977-78 & 1983-85), Director (1985-92), remained at Staff College, Lahore (August December 1998) and served as Director General at the Headquarters (1998-2001). She knows Arabic language.
Presently she is serving as Ambassador of Pakistan to Ireland since December 2001.
