King Abdullah II of Jordan met here Thursday with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi during a brief visit to Tripoli, officials said.
They discussed plans to boost ties between Amman and Tripoli, the situation in the Middle East and the planned Arab summit next month in Tunis, state television said.
No further details were given of Abdullah's visit, which follows a ground-breaking trip to Brussels this week by Gaddafi, who is losing his pariah status in the West after renouncing weapons of mass destruction.
Libya also agreed to pay compensation for the bombing of a US airliner over Scotland by one of its agents that killed 270 people in 1988.
It was his first trip outside Africa or the Middle East in 15 years.
